Each year, the National Press Club awards a $20,000 college scholarship to a talented minority student planning to pursue a career in journalism. The scholarship is awarded over 4 years ($5,000 a year).
It is named for Ellen Masin Persina, a Press Club member who died in 1992 at age 41.
