From the program’s site:

The Daily Princetonian Summer Journalism Program is an educational venture launched by the Princetonian’s Class of 2001 managing board.

[The program serves] high school students from urban, under-resourced school districts ....

During their week on campus, program participants live in Princeton University dorms and attend seminars with professional journalists from papers such as The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Philadelphia Inquirer. They work side-by-side with current Princeton undergraduates and alumni - giving them both an opportunity to hone their skills as writers and an introduction to the exciting world of collegiate journalism.

Program participants meet with New Jersey government officials, visit The New York Times and ABC World News Tonight and cover a Major League Baseball game. They also meet with Princeton admissions officers and discuss how to prepare a college application, how to write a competitive college essay and how to apply for financial aid. The program culminates with students producing their own newspaper, The Summer Prince.

After the program, Daily Princetonian staff members and alumni remain in contact with the students throughout their senior year of high school, assisting them during the college application process and providing guidance as they continue to grow as journalists.
